In short: To make golden milk in seconds, put 3 drops of Golden Turmeric Spice Drops in a cup, pour over about 200ml of warm milk or plant based milk, stir and sweeten to taste. There is no grinding, simmering or turmeric powder to stain the pan, and the same drops work in porridge, smoothies and baking.
Warm spiced milk has long been part of Indian home cooking. Golden milk, also called a turmeric latte, combines turmeric with other warming spices for a comforting drink with a rich golden colour. Made the traditional way, it means grinding spices and simmering milk. Golden Turmeric Spice Drops make it a two minute job.
Golden milk is warm milk flavoured with turmeric and other warming spices. Turmeric has been part of Indian cooking for thousands of years and is prized for its warm, earthy flavour and golden colour. Today golden milk is popular as an evening drink or a caffeine free alternative to coffee.
Golden Turmeric Spice Drops are a blend of turmeric and other warming spice extracts in a dropper bottle, made for golden milk and turmeric lattes. Spice Drops contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and are oxalate free. They are vegan, gluten free and alcohol free, and contain a plant derived emulsifier, polysorbate 80, which helps them mix into food and drink.
For a frothy turmeric latte, whisk or steam the milk before pouring.
Because the flavour is concentrated, start with a few drops and add more to taste.
Stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, they keep for up to three years from the date of manufacture. Shake well before use.
Spice Drops are made at our own factory in Kerala, India, by a family business that dates back to 1946. The spices are crushed in a hammer mill or under a roller without heat, then extracted, and the solvent is removed under vacuum. For some flavours the distilled oil of the same spice is added back. The result is real spice flavour: the natural compounds that give each spice its taste and aroma are still there, such as piperine, which gives black pepper its heat.
Cafés and restaurants can buy Golden Turmeric Spice Drops in 100ml bottles through our Trade page. For more drinks ideas, see our guides to Spice Drops gift sets and chai for cafés.
