Launching Our New Orange Zest Spice Drops®

We’ve been incredibly busy here at Spice Drops® HQ over the last couple of months, what with the new logo, amazing new packaging, and attending Birmingham’s Food & Drink Expo. And we’ve been thrilled with all the positive feedback we’ve received, along with interest from various chefs and mixologists.

We’ve also had a new addition to the range – in April, we were delighted to launch our new Orange Spice Drops®.

Orange Spice Drops® are made from fresh oranges, which are grown and pressed in India. Because they blend easily with any liquid, they’re more versatile than orange oil. This means they impart that inimitable taste of freshly-grated orange zest, intensifying the citrus flavor in any dish without increasing the volume of liquid.

As ever, we’ve provided a clear guide as to how many Spice Drops® equal the amount of flavor you’d get from the fruit itself – in this case, 4 drops = the zest of half an orange (and you don’t have to risk slicing your fingers as you grate the zest!).

We think the drops work brilliantly in savory dishes like carrot soup, roasted duck, and marinated chicken, as well as  in salad dressings. For baking, try them in chocolate, carrot or Madeira cake, or add a few drops to a rich fruit cake batter for added flavor.

You could also use the Orange Spice Drops® to flavor butter cream or other frosting. They mix brilliantly with cream and mascarpone – try a cheesecake, or perhaps add a few drops into a meringue mix for a pavlova.

Over the summer, we’ll be experimenting with orange-infused cocktails, mocktails and smoothies. We’re thinking summery vodka martinis, and perhaps something in Prosecco  and Pimms. Keep an eye on our our social media feeds, because we’ll certainly be sharing our new discoveries.

We’ll also be making orangey  hot chocolate (Great British weather and all that), and incorporating Orange Spice Drops® into our chocolate truffle recipe – perhaps with a drop each of rum and Ginger Spice Drops®

Lemon Spice Drops® will be arriving this summer – we’ll let you know as soon as they’re in stock!
